2017 Best of Colorado Engagements

January is often the best month for reflecting. Something about a clean slate and a new year to get you looking back on your past work. Where did I find success the most? What did I struggle with…etc. . But its a good thing to challenge yourself to dig in deeper. I have to say that looking back through my 2017 Colorado Engagement sessions and I have a huge smile on my face. SO many awesome and fun couples that I got to spend time with and get to know. Many of them either had their wedding last year or I will be photographing their wedding this year. And I simply can not wait!

For those of you that are on the fence about whether or not an engagement session is something you want to add on to your list of things to plan…let me just say I think they are a fun way of getting to know your photographer. Having your photos taken at any point in life…if you are anything like me…feels awkward. Haha. Or the thought of it does I should say. A good photographer will help you forget that unease and try to bring out natural emotion. Another reason I love engagement sessions, you get to explore some really cool places in Colorado. I’m often suggesting places but many of my clients have found some really epic places to photograph for their engagement session. Your engagement session lets you kick back a little from your fast pace planning and show the world just how much you love your fiance…and if you are like me…show how much you love Colorado. I try to include a lot of pull backs that take in the scene and not just all the super up close images. Why live in a gorgeous state and not showcase it.

As far as tips on engagement sessions…I think two outfits is the max you would want on a shoot. I’ve done 3 and that is okay and fun but two lets you really get into the emotions of your shoot. Spending less time changing and more time soaking up that Colorado Sunset with your love and me photographing it…win win. Another thing I’ve learned over the years…the first few shots are really just testers. For everyone. I’m getting to know you guys and you are trying to get into the groove of having your photos taken. So I often just know those first few shots might not make the final cut. And another thing…trust me. Trust that I don’t want you to look silly. Or trust that I will see random stray hairs or weird clothing shifts. I want you to LOVE your shoot so that will be my focus every time. Not only in experience but in the final result. What might feel weird during a shoot will turn out to be one of your favorite shots.

Thank you to all my sweet couples of 2017 for trusting me with your beautiful Colorado Engagement Photos! Follow me on facebook

Sell Your Home Fast With Professional Photos

According to studies, home buyers browsing through listings spend more time sampling the photos than in reading the homes’ descriptions. Great homes with poor photos get lesser views and, consequently, fewer buyers.

Home listings with professional photos sell not only faster, but at higher prices. Browsing data shows that such homes get the most views. Potential home buyers are attracted to listings with appealing photos, spending more time looking at them, and with the likelihood that they make a purchase.

Research shows buyers are also more willing to pay higher prices for the homes. It’s all because we are naturally wired to like what appeals to our eyes, and nice photos do exactly that. For a home listing to be effective, having a professional photographer take the photos is highly necessary.  Here are some more reasons to hire a real estate photographer.

Why Hire a Professional Photographer for Your Home Listing?

Having a professional photographer produce photos for your listing comes with many benefits.  A business photographer knows how to adjust the lighting, knows the photographing angles that give the bes photos, and everything needed for the photos of your house to come out looking nice.

They can photograph small areas of a home like a bathroom which an inexperienced photographer might find hard to take pictures of. A business photographer uses better equipment to take photos, resulting in great images that easily grab the attention of potential home buyers.

Because a professional photographer is in business, they will have the required software to edit the photos they take to give clarity and light to the images for your listing stands out from the rest.

Tips on Getting the Right Photographer for Your Home Listing

Look for a business photographer with experience taking photos specifically for home listings; they understand better how a home photo should look like, so it appeals to buyers. Find a photographer with the right equipment. The more sophisticated their cameras are, the better the images they will produce. You can have them take a photo as an example, or you can ask to see some of their previous works.

When selling a home, a photograph of it is necessary. It shouldn’t but just a photo, but one that’s professionally taken. While taking home photos using a mobile phone or a cheap camera may be tempting, it works against in the end. You risk having distorted or dull-looking photos, and your listing getting fewer views-if any at all.

Poorly done photos can make your home listing stay for even months without finding a buyer, all because of the unattractive photos that accompany it. A professional photograph guarantees you a quicker sale, and for a better price.
